Restoration
through transformation
Release is a Registered Irish charity that has been working to support people affected by incarceration since 2010. We deliver programmes in prisons and in the community that address harm, encourage personal responsibility, and support people to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society.
Our work is based on the principles of restorative justice. Restorative justice is an approach that focuses on repairing harm rather than simply punishing people. It brings together (where appropriate) those affected by wrongdoing to talk about what happened, understand the impact, take responsibility, and working towards repairing harm.
