MENTORING
" I call them my friends. I appreciated the genuine empathy shown by the people who volunteered their time to spread the word of God and show personal interest in my needs. I could write a book on the comfort I received.”

Our purpose is to work with people affected by crime to promote responsibility, repairing harm/reconciliation, and preventing reoffending. We do this through restorative, practical, and person-centred approach that recognises the dignity and potential of every person. We believe that when people are supported to understand the impact of their actions and are given the tools to change, long-term positive change becomes possible.
At Release we run a mentorship programme for people with convictions. This programme is delivered by trained Release volunteers and can range from letter-writing to more formal mentorship relationships. These relationships provide encouragement and guidance through regular contact, visits, and practical support.
