Irish Validation

Speech & Language Therapy Documents Required for (Irish) Validation Process

NOTE: All documentation must be in English and all copies must be Notary Public certified. Please send 2 copies of all documentation.

We recommend all applicants keep a full record of application. As we cannot accept responsibility for any loss that occurs

  1. A copy of the original diploma/degree(s) and a transcript of all examination results showing subjects studied and grades obtained:
  2. A certified statement from the relevant educational institute detailing
    1. the syllabus of the course of education training which was under taken i.e. subjects taken in each year
    2. subject content, number of hours of study in each subject,
    3. type of practice placements (i.e. location, duration/clinical hours, supervision etc.);
  3. Documentation of professional membership for countries where an applicant has practised as a Speech & Language Therapist and/or in the country in which he/she received his/her qualification;
  4. Details of professional experience, if any, (i.e. name(s) and address(es) of employer(s), type of hospital or institution, employment commencement and cessation dates, title of post held, full-time status, practical experience in the profession);
  5. Evidence of professional experience (i.e. letters of confirmation from your employer(s), references etc.);
  6. Documentary proof of citizenship (i.e. birth certificate and passport details)
  7. A copy of Marriage Certificate/Name change (where appropriate)
  8. 1 Cheque (which must be drawn on an Irish bank) made payable to Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists for €85.00

The crucial factor in the validation process is the full and complete provision of the required documentation by the applicant, particularly in the area of practice placements. Please note that applicants may be required to take an additional Clinical English Competency Exam (C.E.C.E.) in the Republic of Ireland.

Please note those applicants applying from British institutions that are accredited by the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapy (RCSLT) are only required to send 1, 3 and 6 & 7 of the above, which must be notarised.
