Get Involved

In prison, despite being surrounded by hundreds of other people, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, life is very lonely. Finding Christ and welcoming Him into my life meant I was no longer alone. Everywhere I would go, I would invite Christ to come with me. The volunteers from Release had a genuineness about them, a genuine care, love and concern for us. I am now free from Prison and I myself have become a volunteer with Release... If one can be free in their heart and soul whilst in prison, then one will always be free.

ExOffenders aren't them, they're us. Release is actively recruiting volunteers from all backgrounds to carry out our programmes.

Are you empathic, non-judgemental, and a good listener? Ways you can support our mission include –

  • One to one visiting (including prisoners preparing to leave prison, those serving life sentences, those managing mental illness, women, and young adults)
  • Writing letters to prisoners
  • Assisting as a facilitator or guest speaker in Bible study, Recovery courses for those in addiction, or extracurricular activities
  • Tutoring or helping an ExOffender in their job search

See the attached volunteer application if you'd like to join our team.
