Therapy Format

The Speech and Language Therapist will determine which class the child will attend based on his/her assessment.

The parent will complete the at-home pre-assessment inventory. Previous assessments will be taken into account when provided.

At the end of each nine-week session, the SLT will review each parent/child and determine:

  • whether the pair should remain in the same class or switch classes to focus on different communication goals
  • whether the parent[s] are adequately reinforcing the week's therapy through the homework exercises.

If the Speech and Language Therapist finds a parent is not working with their child, the parent and child will no longer be able to avail of Release classes.

  • Please remember when you and your child are in assessment or class, only you and the child being assessed are allowed in the room. You must make arrangements for any other children. Please note, mobile phones are not allowed in the assessment or classrooms.
  • Failure to observe the above rules will result in expulsion, with no refund.

To ensure our services remain unsurpassed an anonymous survey will be completed by all participants on the quality of the Release Speech and Language Therapist's teaching, motivational and personal skills at the end of each 9-week session.

If negative surveys are submitted, the Speech and Language Therapist will be put on probation, further to one more 9-week session. If the results are not improved the Speech and Language Therapist will be replaced.
