1 September 2006, Release works with children at St Declan's Special School, Northumberland Rd., Dublin 4
Release is delighted to report we will be working with 20 children at St Declan's Special School, Northumberland Rd., Dublin 4 from September of this year. If funding can be acquired, this number will increase to 47 children in January 2007.

26 August 2006 Westmeath Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland host All-Day Seminar in Mullingar
The Westmeath Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland hosted the All-Day Seminar in Mullingar's Grenville Arms Hotel. All of their members plus those of LOFFA were invited to attend the top rated Release All-Day Seminar.

20 August 2006, May - July End of Session Analysis Delivered
The End of Session Analysis documents we produce are "the most detailed and quantified I've ever seen" states a Senior Civil Servant. We are proud to note we have worked with over 240 children and provided over 2600 hours of speech and language therapy.

The day was a huge success attended by 25 parents of children with varying disabilities. 20 February 2006 - Irish Independent Health Supplement Parents in defence of free speech therapy.

27 March 2006, Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney, T.D. writes to Minister for Finance, Brian Cowen, T.D.
Concerning "…the provision of funding for a pilot study in respect of a programme to include parents in the teaching of Speech and Language Therapy." She goes on to say she is "…having enquiries made in this matter and will be in touch with him as soon as possible". The Tánaiste also wrote to one of our Release parents stating, she is pursuing enquires on Release as a matter of urgency.

Write to your Ministers today. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR CHILD'S SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY!
