"Newly founded Irish publishing house Special Stories Publishing has just released their exciting and unique collection of children's books, The Special Stories Series. The series, launched at this year's INTO teachers conference, comprises of 7 full colour picture books for children, parents teachers and healthcare professionals that address a range of childhood health and social issues; namely foster care, adoption, limited mobility/wheelchair users, cleft palate and speech difficulties, diabetes, asthma and childhood cancer.

'First Place', the book dedicated to children with a speech difficulty, features a young girl called Lizzy who visits a speech therapist on a regular basis and is hoping to learn a poem for her school show. Beautifully illustrated in full colour by Irish artist Eva Byrne this book is not only suitable for children with a speech difficulty but is also a great introductory tool to increase the tolerance of disparities between all young children.

The book is available to buy via the Special Stories Publishing website www.specialstories.net on the shop page or contact Kate at kate@specialstories.net for further information."
