2 October - Release Shortlisted for Prestigious David Manley Award

Over the previous couple of years an annual award competition, the David Manley Award, has been run in Dublin. The award is named after the late business guru, accountant and former president of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and is valued at over €80,000. Previously, the award was open to entrepreneurs working in commercial start-ups. This year the Friends of David Manley committee has decided to expand the scope of the awards to the social and arts sectors and SEI is delighted to announce that we have entered into a partnership with the committee to offer leading social entrepreneurs the chance to compete for the award.

The David Manley award is an awards programme for emerging arts, social and commercial businesses and consists of €10,000 in cash plus services worth over €70,000 from companies such as Deloittes (financial advice and support), Alexander Dunlop (Marketing), Image Now (Branding management), Professional Development (management training), Newmarket (Finance and management consultants), gbc Public Relations (PR), Business and Finance magazine and a major legal firm.

The shortlist for the award will be made up of three applications from social entrepreneurs, three applications from arts entrepreneurs and three applications from business entrepreneurs. One award will then be made to whom the judging committee decide is the strongest application from among the nine on the shortlist.

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland will select and nominate three applications from social entrepreneurs for the shortlist and will only consider applications from current and previous SEI award winners.

Out of numerous high-quality applications, Release was chosen to go forward to the next stage.

As you can imagine, we are extremely pleased to have made it this far!
